Bomdila, Guwahati and Shillong Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Your exciting 15-day Northeast India tour begins with your arrival at Guwahati airport. Known as the gateway to Northeast India, Guwahati is a bustling city with a blend of ancient and modern attractions. Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, our representative will welcome you. Visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the holiest Shakti Peeths in India. Later, drive to Shillong, the “Scotland of the East.” Enroute stop at Umiam Lake. On reaching Shillong check-in at a hotel and take rest.

Overnight in Shillong.
Day 2
After breakfast at hotel, start Shillong sightseeing tour. Today you can explore -

Don Bosco Museum – a must-visit for history and culture lovers.
Elephant Falls – 3 tier one of the largest waterfalls in Meghalaya.
Wards Lake – Enjoy boating and walking around the beautiful lake.
Shillong Cathedral- Sit and enjoy the beautiful church.
Laitlum Canyon – Enjoy gorgeous view of rolling hilly gorgeous and walk in the field.
Return to Shillong in the evening and enjoy shopping at Police Bazar market.

Day 3
Today morning after breakfast drive to Cherrapunji which is famous for its misty landscapes and waterfall. On reaching visit

Mawdok Dumpep valley
Seven Sisters Falls – seven cascading streams side by side.
Nohkalikai Falls – India’s highest plunge waterfall.
Mawsmai & Arwah Caves - explore fascinating limestone formations and ancient fossils.
Eco Park - enjoy wonderful views.
In the evening check-in to a hotel and take rest.

Day 4
Drive to the Indo-Bangladesh border and visit Dawki and Mawlynnong village. Today you can explore -

Dawki River – crystal-clear waters, ideal for boating.
Mawlynnong Village – Asia’s cleanest village.
Short trek to the iconic Living Root Bridge.
Return to Shillong in the afternoon.

Day 5
Post breakfast, drive back to Assam and head towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park which houses two-thirds of the world's Rhino population. On arrival, check into a scenic resort near Kaziranga. Evening free to relax or enjoy a traditional cultural show at Kaziranga Orchid Park.

Day 6
Rise early for an elephant safari in Kaziranga, where you can spot the famous one-horned rhinoceros, wild buffaloes, swamp deer and varieties of migratory birds.
Afterward, visit the Kaziranga Orchid Park, which showcase over 500 rare and exotic orchid species. There you can buy souvenir, enjoy handicraft museum and authentic Assamese cuisine.
In the afternoon go for Jeep Safari and explore large variety of wild animals.

Day 7
After breakfast, drive towards Majuli, the world’s largest inhabited river island, located on the mighty Brahmaputra river. It is also the cultural center of Neo Vaishnavism. The road to Majuli island also involves 1 hour of ferry ride. On reaching check-in at a traditional bamboo cottage. In the evening, you can explore the island on foot or simply relax and unwind.

Post breakfast go for Sightseeing in Majuli and explore the cultural, rural beauty of the island and experience the peaceful island life.

Visit biggest Neo-Vaishnavite Satras( monasteries) Auniati Satra and Garmur Satra.
See the mask-making art of Majuli which depicting characters of Hindu mythology.
Meet the Mishing tribal community and witness their culture and traditions.
Visit pottery villages and go birdwatching by the wetlands.
Enjoy scenic village and watch sunset in Brahmaputra river or one of its tributaries.

Day 9
Morning after breakfast, return to Jorhat by ferry and drive to Tezpur, a historic town on the bank of Brahmaputra river. If time permit visit Agnigarh hill and ancient Mahabhairab Temple to know the history associated with and enjoy picturesque view. Enroute enjoy boating at Brahmaputra river at additional cost.

Day 10
DirangPost breakfast, drive to Dirang, a picturesque hill town in Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute stop at Tipi Orchidarium. On arrival, visit the Thupsung Dhargye Monastery (TDL Monastery) and spend the evening at leisure enjoying the beauty of this charming town.

Day 11
After breakfast, begin your journey to Tawang, one of the most scenic hill station in Arunachal Pradesh. Drive through high mountain passes Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and the crystal-clear Sela Lake. En route, halt at Jaswant Garh War Memorial, a site commemorating the sacrifice of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat during the 1962 war. On reaching check-in at a hotel and spend the evening at rest. Overnight stay in Tawang.

Cross highest motorable mountain passes in India - Sela Pass (13,700 ft).
Stop by breathtaking high-altitude lake Sela Lake also known as Paradise Lake.
Visit Jaswant Garh War Memorial.

After breakfast, go for local sightseeing in Tawang.

400 years old largest monastery in India- Tawang Monastery.

Explore local market and taste Tibetan cuisine.

Sangetsar LakeAfter early morning breakfast, visit Indo China border at Bumla Pass and high-altitude lakes Sungester Lake(Madhuri Lake), Panga Teng Tso Lake(P.T. Tso Lake) and Nagula Lake and experience breathtaking high-altitude landscapes, serene glacial beauty and the thrill of standing near the Indo-China border. After a full day trip return to Tawang in the evening.

After breakfast, drive down to Bomdila, a charming town of Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute visit breathtaking Jung waterfall(Nuranang Falls) to witness one of Arunachal Pradesh’s most spectacular waterfall surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic mountain scenery. On reaching visit Bomdila monastery and enjoy panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayan mountain. In the evening explore local market famous for woolen garments, local fruit and vegetables, handicrafts and traditional masks.
